DANELLA AND JASON WHITTAKER
Our Valle del Sol story is a somewhat unique one. We had been coming to Cabo for vacation for several years prior to finding VDS…staying at beautiful places like Flora Farms and Acre. But one Sunday afternoon I paid a visit to VDS and met John in the early stages of its development. I (Jason) saw his vision and immediately committed to it without even the wife’s input (much to her chagrin at the time). A decision neither of us regret to this day. When I came across my challenge of battling a brain tumour, it was VDS that came to my rescue as a place of refuge and recovery. I’m not afraid to say that it saved me. When we Valle-del-Soleans say that VDS is more than just another neighbourhood……we mean it; from its maintenance of its natural elements, to the attention to detail by those who work to build and maintain it, to the people who actually live here……..its a special place and we feel so blessed to be here.

TRACIE BRELSFORD AND ETTA
Valle del Sol is where I found my soul! I saw this breathtaking place three years ago when it was still a dream in the desert hills at the top of a dirt road. I wanted to retire to my own place in Cabo San Lucas, a place I’d been coming to for 22 years, but nothing touched me, everything looked the same, until I happened upon Valle del Sol. It reminded me of the small colonial-era towns of southern Baja, los Pueblos Magicos like El Triunfo. The colors, the ranch style homes so typically of Mexican design, the palo de arco fences, the open spaces, the roosters crowing and burro braying, and John Buckley’s genuine enthusiasm and true love of this place sold me instantly. I picked out a space for me and my dog, Etta, among the giant cardon cacti and desert flora, then John built me a Mexican ranch house that I will treasure forever. Living here has been a dream come true. I am barefoot every morning among my own garden plants, growing mangoes and watermelon and limes, getting my hands blissfully dirty, while my beautiful golden retriever roams the wide open spaces with me. I am surrounded by the happiest and friendliest neighbors and Valle staff who are all an integral part of the positive vibe. Etta and I can be at the beach or downtown in 15 minutes or stay right here all day and be perfectly content. From here I can see all of Cabo San Lucas, the Pacific Ocean, the Sea of Cortez, the desert hills; I can walk any number of trails through nature; I can collect fresh eggs from the chickens, feed veggies to the bunnies and goats and sheep, and eat right here at the best farm-to-table restaurant in Cabo, Torote at Valle del Sol. I still pinch myself that I found this paradise and made it home.

JILL & BRIAN COUTURE
Brian had been wanting to purchase something in Mexico for years. We looked in a few areas but just didn’t find anything that felt right until we looked closer at Valle del Sol. In the middle of COVID during the strictest travel restrictions, we decided on VDS. We had friends who were already living there and the views were amazing. We felt so comfortable talking to John Buckley, the visionary behind the community, that without ever setting foot at Valle, we purchased the lot where Casa Colibri now stands and wired our deposit sight unseen. We have not once regretted the decision. We are still tossing around spending more time down south because every time we leave I sob. Valle is a special place filled with old growth Cacti and surrounded by nature. I see the Ravens leave for the morning and return at night. We are growing mandarin oranges, limes, and mangos, and we get to see birds nesting in our Palm tree and our cactus. Our smiles are larger in Cabo and I think the anti-aging process begins as soon as we are at our home in Valle del Sol.
